			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A while ago, Google acquired a company called Grand Central and renamed its service Google Voice. In a nutshell, it provides you a phone number and a voicemail box to use as an alternative to your home number. Like other Google services, it&#8217;s completely free and pretty useful. One of the more unique features its ability to transcribe incoming voice messages and send them to you via email. The voice recognition software is hit-or-miss, but usually you can get the point. Sometimes it makes funny errors. Sometimes it makes slightly disturbing ones, as demonstrated below:</p>

<p>To our relief, it turned out to be Kelley&#8217;s <em>Dad</em> calling, not Death. Phew.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I&#8217;ve been exposed to a new variety of spam recently &#8211; job spam. Since posting my resume on the major job boards, I&#8217;ve been getting two to three dubious offers per day. Today&#8217;s first example was the best yet:</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;"><em>We cordially invite you to join our great team as a Sales Representative / Project Manager. Company (name witheld) is in the process of <strong>expending</strong> its operations in the U.S. market.</em></p>
<p>Thanks, but expending operations is what got me into this position in the first place.</p>
